Period Products for the Homeless
All over the world homeless women are being forced to choose between a meal for the day or a tampon. Even in homeless shelters, not a lot of the funds are dedicated towards period products, and the funds that do only buy low-quality ones. This forces women to live in un-hygienic conditions, making them more prone to infections and more.
This year, our team has dedicated our efforts in hosting fundraisers and collecting period products to give to homeless women in shelters and tent cities. Our team plans to also create hygienic "go-bags" for women containing the following: Tampons and/or pads, wet wipes, dark chocolates, and travel-sized heat pads (to reduce the pain). We are also collecting period product donations from women around the globe who want to help. Help us give these women the basic right of cleanliness.

Community Trash Pick-up
We organized an asynchronous Trash Pickup, in light of Covid, so our members could still help the environment while staying safe! Members can go anywhere, anytime, for however long they want, to go pick up trash. Once they finish, you send pictures to the officers to approve your hours. We went to schools and parks, and dedicated over 100 hours to clean up our community. This is an ongoing asynchronous event that will continue for the rest of the year.
And more! We've done a Thanksgiving food drive, raised hundreds for NAMI ( a mental health organization), are doing a children's book and toy drive, etc.! Join our club to get involved!
A big part of our club is to provide our members with pre-existing volunteering opportunities that tackle several causes. The officers essentially sift through the internet, find these opportunities, write short descriptions of each as well as state any eligibility requirements and related info, and finally present them to our members. We have a huge doc compiled with all the opportunities we offer, which only our members are allowed access to. We also have exclusive Lions Club volunteering opportunities that we present to our members as well. In the past, we have volunteered together at places like Hunger at Home and Second Harvest, which focus on providing food to families who need it. The new officer team recently collected donations for a Lions Thanksgiving Food Drive. Members will have access to similar volunteer opportunities and more!
